How To Export Records Into EndNote: Google Scholar

This guide includes instructions for exporting records into EndNote from the APU library catalog, several APU databases, and Google Scholar. This guide was originally created by Michelle Spomer.

Follow These Instructions

  • Go to Google Scholar.
  • Look for the Settings option by clicking on the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner. Settings will be at the bottom of the drop down menu on the left.
  • Click on Settings, and find the Bibliography Manager section at the bottom.
  • Click the second radio button "Show links to import citations into" then select "EndNote" from the menu.

  • Click the 'Save' button.
  • If you haven't already, perform a search in Google Scholar. In your results list, you should now see an "Import into EndNote" link under each result.

  • Click on the 'Import into EndNote' link, and a .enw file will automatically download onto your computer.
  • Find the .enw file and double-click on it. If it's not already open, your EndNote software should open when you click on the file. You can also open EndNote first, and then use EndNote to import the file by clicking on 'Import' in the 'File' menu. After clicking on 'Import,' click on 'File.' Find the .enw file on your computer by clicking on 'Choose.' When you find the file, click on 'Import.' You should see the citation in EndNote.
