How To Export Records Into EndNote: LINK+

This guide includes instructions for exporting records into EndNote from the APU library catalog, several APU databases, and Google Scholar. This guide was originally created by Michelle Spomer.

Follow These Instructions:

  • Perform a search in the LINK+ catalog.
  • If you're looking at a title list, put checkmarks next to the items that you want to export into EndNote, and then click on the Add Marked to Bag link at the top left of the results list (see graphic below).  

  • If you're looking at an individual record, click on the Add to Bag link above the search box (see graphic below).

  • When you're finished adding items to your bag, click on the View Bag link near the top of the page.
  • Put a dot next to End-Note/RefWorks in the Format of List section, and next to Local Disk in the Send List To section (see graphic below).

  • In the Your List of Saved Records section, check the item(s) you want to export.
  • Click the Submit button.
  • Click Save, choose the location and name (if desired) of your export file, and click Save again.
  • Open your EndNote library.
  • Click on the File menu and choose Import
  • Click on Choose File, and locate your export file.
  • Choose EndNote Import in the Import Option section.
  • Click the Import button. The reference(s) should show up in your EndNote library.
