There are two ways to find books in APU's online library catalog: you can browse books by subject categories (subject headings), or you can do keyword searches for books that use specific words or phrases.
Below, I've given you some suggested subject headings to start with (if you're interested in browsing), as well as some tips for keyword searching. Be sure to also review the Research Tips section of this LibGuide for more advice on keyword searching.
Once you've found books on your topic, you can proceed to the next step: finding articles on your topic.
Use the following links to browse the APU Library Catalog by subject.
One way to locate books on your topic is to enter keywords (words that describe your topic) into the search box in the APU library catalog. You can also enter them here:
Undergrad and graduate students can borrow up to 100 books at a time, with an initial check-out period of 28 days and 4 renewals. Doctoral students, staff, and faculty members can borrow up to 500 books at a time, with an initial check-out period of 90 days and 2 renewals.
You can place items on hold by clicking the "Request" link and selecting a pickup location. We'll send you an email when your items are ready to be picked up (usually the next day). Regional Center students may request free mailing of books by choosing "By Mail" as the pickup location. Mailing is free; items will be sent to your home address with a pre-paid mailing envelope included.
You can check your library account and renew your library books online through the APU library catalog.
When you find a book that you like, look at the subject headings that are given for it. You can click on those subject headings to find other books on the same subject:
