The following databases are newly acquired or being evaluated for a future subscription.

  • The Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary is a six-volume state-of-the-art dictionary of the Bible offering the most up-to-date and comprehensive treatment of biblical subjects and topics. The Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary (AYBD) is one of the gold standard reference works for Biblical studies. With more than 6,000 entries and nearly 1,000 contributors, it offers an interdisciplinary, interfaith exploration of the Bible in terms that are easy to understand and refers readers to deeper scholarship in the field.
  • Features approximately 1,600 primary source documents related to critical people and events in Black or African American history, particularly regarding the struggle against racial injustice in the United States.
  • CBS News 60 MINUTES offers unprecedented access to transcripts and nearly 500 hours of video from 1997–2014. Available in the US Newsstream Collection, 60 MINUTES is among the most respected television journalism programs in the world. Each news segment within the collection serves as a standalone short documentary on a specific news topic. Segments are also included from CBS News program Sunday Morning, whose timely news pieces, cultural features, and newsmaker profiles form an ideal complement to 60 MINUTES content.
  • This publication's detailed indexing helps users quickly find the news information they need. Each issue is indexed thoroughly, so they have access to not only top news stories but also the information contained on the various sections of the paper. The indexing covers not only complete bibliographic information but also companies, people, products, etc. 
  • For over one hundred years, International Critical Commentaries have had a special place among works on the Bible. They bring together all the relevant aids to exegesis - linguistic, textual, archaeological, historical, literary, and theological - to help the reader understand the meaning of the books of the Old and New Testaments. 
  • JSTOR contains digitized back runs of over six hundred core scholarly journals in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, some dating as far back as the 1600s. Includes all of JSTOR including the archive collections of JSTOR 1-15, Business IV, Ecology & Botany II, Hebrew Journals, Ireland, Jewish Studies, & Life Sciences. The thematic collections: Lives of Literature, Security Studies, & Sustainability. And the primary source collections: World Heritage Sites: Africa, Struggles for Freedom: Southern Africa, & Global Plants.
  • The New York Times is considered the official U.S. newspaper because it publishes the complete text of important documents, speeches, and presidential press conferences. The paper's reporters have won scores of Pulitzer Prizes throughout the publication's 150-year history. Each issue of every newspaper is indexed thoroughly, so your patrons have access to not only top news stories but also detailed information on the arts, sports, business, and popular culture. Even such items as editorials, editorial cartoons, obituaries, and letters to the editor from well-known people are indexed.

It covers not only complete bibliographic information but also subjects, companies, people, products, and geographic areas. Our highly trained indexers apply the subject terms from a controlled vocabulary of about 8,500 natural-language words and phrases.
  • The Washington Post is well known for not only in-depth news and analysis of American politics but also insightful coverage of national and international trends and events. The paper's popularity is evinced by the fact that it is read by more than a million people worldwide.
