This guide was created to give you an idea of the resources that APU has to offer local minsters, as well as to provide some websites that might be helpful to you in your ministry.
Partners in Ministry Program
Partners in Ministry (PIM) is a relationship-based program created by the C.P. Haggard School of Theology (HGST), and is offered to pastoral staff serving in local churches and parachurch organizations. The PIM Program supports pastoral staff through annual conferences that feature inspirational speakers who speak on relevant ministry/parachurch topics and allow for critical networking.
Members of the PIM Program receive a membership card, entitling them to:
- Access to all university libraries, including the James L. Stamps Theological Library.
- Attendance at ministry seminars.
- A 10% discount on University Bookstore merchandise (Note: This excludes textbooks, course materials, snack foods, sending services, software, sale merchandise, and gift certificates.).
- Discounted costs at all APU dining facilities.
- Discounted admissions for APU regular season, home football, and basketball games.
- Discounted admissions for APU theater productions.

- Career Services Post a church ministry position through Career Services.
- Center for Adult and Professional Studies CAPS offers degree completion and accelerated degree programs designed to fit into a working professional’s schedule. The center offers accelerated bachelor's degree programs in Christian leadership and CIS/MIS, programs such as liberal studies, leadership, RN to BSN, and a master's in leadership and organizational studies are offered in both online and face-to-face formats.
- Center for Research in Science The Center for Research in Science (CRIS) exists to serve a community of students, scholars, and laypersons by promoting research that encompasses the scope of scientific studies and addresses the inseparable relationship between science and culture, its role in classical liberal arts education, and the ancient dialogue between faith and reason.
- Center for Youth and Family The new center will continue the vision of equipping parents and youth with the tools to build healthy families.
- Centro Teológico Hispano Dedicated to fostering the field of Hispanic church studies, el Centro Teológico Hispano at C.P. Haggard Graduate School of Theology offers unique courses, guest speakers, and relationship-building opportunities. It also provides a place for pastors and students to meet and discuss current issues, gain diverse training, and tap into multicultural resources that enable Hispanics to adequately minister within their particular contexts.
- Free Methodist Center In addition to training, equipping, and mentoring students for godly, competent ministry, the center acts as a link between APU and local churches. This includes bringing the resources of the university to the Free Methodist constituency and placing graduates where they are best suited to minister.
- Friends Center The Friends Center is dedicated to developing spiritual leaders who lead from a foundation of Christ-like character and who are trained in Biblical scholarship, theological reflection, and practical ministry skills.
- Kern Center for Vocational Ministry The KCVM assists students who are sensing God leading them to vocational pastoral ministry by helping them clarify their calling and qualify their giftedness.
- School of Theology Offering more than 15 undergraduate and graduate religion programs, including majors in philosophy, theology, and Christian ministry, as well as M.Div., and D.Min. programs, APU’s School of Theology provides expert preparation for Christian seminary, church and para-church ministry management, and Christian educational ministry.
