- Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry (Beilstein-Institut): A highly respected, peer-reviewed, fully open-access journal covering all areas of organic chemistry.
- Chemical Science (Royal Society of Chemistry) - Hybrid, but often has open access content: The flagship journal of the RSC, also hybrid. Many high-impact articles are available open access, and it's a top-tier journal.
- ChemistryOpen (Wiley-VCH): A fully open-access journal publishing high-quality original research in all areas of chemistry and related fields. It's part of the ChemPubSoc Europe family.
- Green Chemistry (Royal Society of Chemistry) - Hybrid, but key content often free/open-access through author choice or institutional agreements: While primarily a hybrid journal, a significant amount of its content becomes open access due to author choices or institutional agreements. It's a leading journal in sustainable chemistry.
- Journal of Chemical Education Journal of Chemical Education advances chemistry teaching and learning, and chemistry education research addressing laboratory experiments, curricula, and pedagogies.
- MDPI Journals (e.g., Molecules, Catalysts, Inorganics): MDPI is a large open-access publisher with many specialized journals in various subfields of chemistry (e.g., Molecules for molecular chemistry, Catalysts for catalysis, Inorganics for inorganic chemistry). They are fully open access.
- Nature Communications (Chemistry Section): While Nature portfolio journals are typically subscription-based, Nature Communications is fully open access across all scientific fields, including chemistry.
