Description of the Course: This course prepares nurses to use theory and research evidence in advanced clinical practice. The relationship between theory and research is examined, exploring questions about the nature, construction, and use of each. Selected theoretical models and theories are explored, and students learn how ideas are developed and used in nursing practice and research. Students deepen their understanding of the research process by engaging in a systematic search, critique, and summary of research studies with direct application to nursing practice. Experience in statistical analysis of research data is included.
